This Christmas, let’s pay it forward 😉 A lot of us may be up to our ears with lists and gifts – basically trying to complete our Christmas shopping in time to send them out to our loved ones. It is the season of giving after all.

But let’s not forget that the giving is not limited to our loved ones. It also means sharing and giving to other people in need – or even helping out a stranger when they needed it most.

This is Sheilla Nelson. Sheilla works as a cashier at Toy R’ Us and was behind the cash register last Black Friday when Chelsea and her 8-year-old daughter, Violet lined up to pay. Chelsea and Violet were there shopping so that the latter could use some of the gift cards she got.

Unfortunately, when they rang up the purchases, they were more than $5 short of the total amount. Chelsea had her spare change in her car and literally had no money on hand – she felt helpless. Chelsea was just telling her disappointed daughter that they have to put some of the toys back when Sheilla heard their predicament and came to their rescue. Sheilla offered to pay their remaining bill. Chelsea was hesitant and said that they could put some toys back, but Sheilla was having none of it and paid.

When Chelsea’s husband Roger heard about what happened, he was moved by Sheilla’s kindness and decides to pay it forward – by driving back to the store and donating $552 in gift cards. These will be distributed to customers who might need a bit of help with their purchases – just like Chelsea that day.
