A recent viral post of a Dad and his little girl going out for fancy dates every month received “awwww’s” from people worldwide.
But the question is, should you do this to your little girls too?
You be the judge and read on!
This is the original post by Caitlin Fladager:
“My husband decided once a month he will take our little girl out on a “date” where she gets all dressed up and gets taken out for cake and ice cream. Tonight was there first night doing it. He helped her pick out a dress for her to wear, got a little purse ready for her, held the door open for her, and made her feel like a princess. She loved it was so happy when she got home. She will always know how she deserves to be treated because her dad sets such a high example.”
The post received a lot of attention and sweet compliments from strangers in the internet.
But Rebecca Reid from Metro begs to disagree.
In her opinion, this activity is not appropriate if you want to raise a young woman who will have a healthy attitude towards men.
She says that the reaction of a lot of people towards this dad who takes out his daughter every month is a big issue.
She pointed out that mothers do more than “taking out” their kids. They even wrestle with these young and hyper humans just to make them ride a trolly.
And she goes on by asking if moms even get thousands of likes by going through these errands for their kids.
“It’s demeaning, and it’s probably why only 14% of men are the full time childcare provider and only 11% take shared parental leave.”
What do you think of her opinion and these Daddy-daughter dates?
