Winter is coming – literally in some parts of the world. So give your furbabies the gift of warmth this Christmas by ensuring that they are not tied up outside, shivering and sleeping in the snow.
Montgomery County Animal Services is taking this matter seriously as officers in Rockville, MD, will be enforcing an ordinance that disallows animals from being left outside during extreme weather conditions.
Thomas Koenig, the Director of the Montgomery County Animal Services said that this ordinance will take effect during periods of heavy wind or snow, or even extreme cold. He further asked citizens and pet owners to bring their pets indoors, and even ensure that they have dry bedding.
We think that such a reminder is for everyone of us as well. Whether there’s such an ordinance or not in our area, let us all ensure that our pets enjoy a warm Christmas season.
